Leslie Buckmaster

Helping you navigate what feels unmanagebale

Hi, I’m Leslie.
I believe every conversation is an opportunity—for growth, healing, and deeper understanding. My passion lies in helping people feel truly seen, heard, and supported as they navigate life’s most tender moments.

My approach is grounded in both professional training and lived experience. I focus on grief, loss, trauma, parenting (or single parenting)—and I bring deep empathy and attunement to each session. I know firsthand that grief doesn’t follow a script. There’s no “right” way to heal. My own journey through loss was painful and complex, and it taught me the strength that can come from moving through it with support.

Raised in a single-parent immigrant home, I learned resilience early on. I’ve always been drawn to meaningful conversations—the kind that create space for people to show up exactly as they are. Therapy, for me, is not just a profession—it’s a calling. A way to offer others the safety, insight, and connection we all need to grow.

If you're navigating pain, transition, or simply longing to feel more grounded in who you are, I’m here to walk alongside you.

About Leslie

Educationally...
I earned my BA in Human Development with a minor in Sociology from California State University, Long Beach, and later completed my MA in Social Work from USC with a focus on Children, Youth, and Families.
Professionally...
I have experience as a children's social worker with the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services and as a school social worker in the public school setting. These roles have allowed me to work with diverse and at-risk populations, including children, youth, adults, and families. My universal goal is to foster self-confidence and the belief that change is possible, helping individuals from all backgrounds work toward a rich and fulfilling life.

Personally...
I am a single parent of two wonderful children, and motherhood has inspired my own journey to identify and break cycles of generational trauma, creating a brighter future for my family. As the child of a Mexican immigrant mother and a U.S.-born father, I bring a unique cultural perspective to my work. I value quality time as my love language and approach life with the adventurous spirit of a Sagittarius.
