"A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." - Lao Tzu
Growing up in a single-parent household, I developed self-sufficiency and deep curiosity about the world. From an early age, I was drawn to learning from meaningful conversations, discovering the power of creating safe spaces where others can share their thoughts and ideas. I believe every conversation holds an opportunity for growth and understanding, and I am passionate about fostering connection and personal insight. Becoming a therapist is more than just a job for me--it's a way to connect with people on a deeper level and gain a richer understanding of the world around us.
Educationally...
I earned my BA in Human Development with a minor in Sociology from California State University, Long Beach, and later completed my MA in Social Work with a focus on Children, Youth, and Families. I am currently accruing clinical hours to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
Professionally...
I have experience as a children's social worker with the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services and as a school social worker in the public school setting. These roles have allowed me to work with diverse and at-risk populations, including children, youth, adults, and families. My universal goal is to foster self-confidence and the belief that change is possible, helping individuals from all backgrounds work toward a rich and fulfilling life.
Personally...
I am a single parent of two wonderful children, and motherhood has inspired my own journey to identify and break cycles of generational trauma, creating a brighter future for my family. As the child of a Mexican immigrant mother and a U.S.-born father, I bring a unique cultural perspective to my work. I value quality time as my love language and approach life with the adventurous spirit of a Sagittarius.
