Leslie Buckmaster

Meet Leslie Buckmaster

I know how heavy life can feel when loss, change, or family struggles reshape everything you thought you knew. As a widowed mother of two, I carry my own lived experience of grief, parenting, and rebuilding after hardship — and it deeply influences how I show up in the therapy room. I understand how complicated it can be to navigate single parenting, co-parenting, raising neurodivergent kids, and even the challenges of custody battles or CPS involvement. My goal is always to create a space where you feel truly seen and supported, no matter how overwhelming the circumstances may seem.

I feel especially connected to working with people facing grief and loss, widows, parents, and families trying to make sense of painful transitions. I also love supporting children and teens as they find their voice, as well as individuals and couples navigating mixed-race marriages or cultural identity. As a Mexican American who grew up with a single mom, I bring not only professional knowledge but also a cultural understanding and personal compassion to the therapy process.

Outside of therapy, I stay grounded through my spirituality, hiking, and seeking out new adventures. These parts of my life help me connect with resilience, which I believe every person has within themselves — even if it feels hidden in the moment.

In our work together, I draw from psychodynamic therapy, solution-focused strategies, somatic awareness, and CBT to help you heal, grow, and create a path forward that feels authentic to you.
