Meet Nicole Akhrem

Hi, I’m Nicole.

My own journey is a big part of why I do this work. I know firsthand what it’s like to sit with questions that don’t have easy answers, and that experience shaped the kind of therapist I wanted to become: someone who shows up with genuine curiosity rather than a checklist.

I’m a trauma therapist working with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, trauma, relationship struggles, and life transitions. My approach is warm and collaborative, weaving together psychodynamic insight, somatic tools, and practical coping skills.

I work with clients from complex families or immigrant families dealing with generational trauma that unfolds into the present. We grapple with a loss of purpose, relational difficulties, and maladaptive coping behaviors such as addiction.

Cultural competency and humility are high values of mine, I approach each client with curiosity regarding their cultural, familial history and lineage. As a Jewish therapist to immigrant parents from different cultures, I understand the complexities and nuance of those experiences. I work with clients of all cultural backgrounds, and provide a safe space for clients seeking help for discrimination, marginalization, and othering, including antisemitism.

I believe healing happens through both self-understanding and authentic connection. What I care about most is that therapy feels real — not performed. I’m here to make a genuine connection that gives you the space to feel truly seen, safe, and empowered to grow: to understand yourself more deeply, and to build the kind of life that actually fits who you are.
